JOYFUL ECSTASY
Above the Barber's shop in Timperley
From the cold attic window in my bedge
I saw the real Santa on his sledge
high up above the rooftops and the hedge
nineteen sixty Christmas Eve I believe
the only day it snowed in the village
I fell in disbelief from my bunk bed
onto the wooden floor and hit my head
I went downstairs to check the Christmas tree
to see if Santa left something for me
One thing I didn't get was the train set
but joyful ecstasy the pedal car
that I longed for to race around the yard
Santa Claus must have read the note I wrote
From the cold attic window in my bedge
Above the Barber's shop in Timperley
