Disambiguation

MINI SAGA OUTBID
Monday’s are madding half insane
Idiots running the inmates fate
Nobody knows when to make the call
Imagination is only a game

Shout if you want to talk
Anti-establishment drowning in hate
Games not made for playing on boards
Abracadabra don’t use the phone

Only and even the lonely will fall
Unnatural as a deep sea diver
Tempting screws with a dodgy bent fiver
Bald as beetroot and wrangler cords
I sit waiting for you to call home
Down here on the funny walk

  1. Great acrostic Andy! And you connected the two with repetitions rearranged. I find this most fascinating. Is this part of its variation or your own invention and does it follow a pattern of some sort. Would like to try one later. Thanks!

  2. Hi Hank, It's something I developed a few years ago, although this example is slightly different as I used a sonnet for the title piece. I often use a form where the first word on one line is derived from the last word of the previous line. I think I got the idea from an impossibly difficult form called the syllable sestina. If you would like to read any of my earlier attempts you could put the search term FlameThrower, or Acrostic Flame Thrower into the box in the top left hand corner of this blog or over on my Naive Poet blog at sewina.blogspot.com Finally here's a link to a really crazy one I did, with 37 different anagrams of the title piece - Constantinople http://sewina.blogspot.com/2011/10/flamethrowerpoetry-extra-special-you.html

  3. Sorry Hank, I've just checked the search boxes, and it looks like I've taken most of my FlameThrower poetry off for re-editing to make a collection,
