The words this week are
Accentuate, glamour, and pitch.
Here's mine:
DAVID BECKHAM
In his heyday he was arguably the best passer of the ball.
He was able to accentuate the glamour on and off the pitch.
But with all that money, how could he remain hungry enough to score?

You raise an important point here - if, that is, one CAN have an important point concerning Beckham :-)
ReplyDeletei like how you fit everything in one line!

Love the dramatic power of that word "hungry"! Very neat piece of writing with lots of innuendos!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, great stuff. You make good points.
ReplyDeleteWishing Well
I love the alliteration - B is for Beckham, beer, brawls...they go together nicely.
ReplyDeleteThis was a very clever take on the words...it does seem that Beckham's celebrity status has overwhelmed his reputation as a serious athlete.
ReplyDeleteI don't even follow soccer/football, and even I know about Beckingham's lackluster performance!
ReplyDeleteGreat 3WW!
I have never seen him play but I have seen a lot of photos of him.
ReplyDeleteI like the "sandwich" interesting using B words I think they tie it all together.
The American Sandwich - hungry works so well - great choice of words in here and the NaiSaiKu is cleverly done - the age old question of how hungry is hungry.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much into sports stars, but I like your points and I enjoy the clever jumble of words in the "sandwich" poem. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteGlamour at times takes over performance. Very true
ReplyDeleteSweet writing :)
ReplyDeleteClever take, Andy! Made me smile.
ReplyDeleteThe Sandwich Game bit was spot on...
ReplyDeleteyou took the right name for glamor :)
ReplyDeletenice post
You raise a valid point about Beckham!
ReplyDeleteaccentuated aura
Arguably it would only be City fans arguing the point.
ReplyDeletehey, he's hot... what you say abt scoring...
ReplyDeleteI'm new to this form but enjoyed your alliterative piece even though I had no idea WHO David Beckham was until I arrived here. Although it's Sunday (rather than Tuesday) I did give NaiSaiKu a try just now at Small Reflections and HOPE I did it right ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
I just loved the last line
