One Single Impression Prompt 99

The prompt at One Single Impression is: Chaos.

Here's an American Sandwich:

FIFTEEN SECONDS OF SHAME
Chaos reigned in his dreams, he thought it was her he was making love with. She was so squishy when they kissed, she felt so real, so hot in his arms. He had wanted her for so long, but she was just another bad dream.

  1. The American Sandwich game... Flash Fiction in 51 syllables, with a poetic filling.
Write a piece of flash fiction in just three American Sentences. Allen Ginsberg's American Sentence has seventeen syllables. Your task is to use as few words as possible to fill the sandwich.
    Take a bite...
Okay, it's your turn to have a go at the American Sandwich. Simply write a piece of poetic flash fiction in three Sentences. Remember, each American Sentence has seventeen syllables.

Post it on your blog and leave a permalink to it in my comments (on The American Sandwich game.. post). Come back to see what other people have written and visit them too. Please comment on participants work, to help build a community.

  2. Hey Andy, this is good! It looks like fun too. I like doing fun things so it might be for me, but not today.
And yes, I've had those bad dreams, I guess we all have. I like the ones where in a half sleep I try to get things corrected.

That grey SUV in the corner was the one we rented in Barcelona and drove up to the Carcassonsne, France, area. Our hotel was in Caunes-Minervois, a little to the northeast of Carcassonsne. We stayed there and in Barcelona for a week, then went to Paris, etc, for another week. Some of that is on the 'Label' link.

I wonder why we always dream of some chaotic situations wherein somebody whom we silently love is always involved.

Nicely written Andy. I can relate, honestly!

  9. I think I have had one of those dreams. While I was reading, I was thinking about how much air it takes to minimize the squishiness. :)
    All "beyond" chaos.

  14. I love this form! Your story was at once palpable, baroque, fantastic. Allen Ginsburg seems like the perfect pilot for "chaos".

Thank you for your heartfelt response to my poem.
